Maria Solas is the Fiduciary Services Manager of Appleby Global Services (Cayman) Limited (AGS) with responsibility for leading AGS’s fiduciary services offering in the Cayman Islands office, which includes providing independent director and administration to a wide range of client companies, such as structured finance and fund entities, while supporting full corporate services offering. Maria has over nineteen years’ experience in the financial services industry, twelve of which were dedicated to assurance and advisory services.
Prior to joining Appleby Global Services (Cayman) Limited and recognizing the sustained interest for independent directors, Maria joined the fund fiduciary team of a global legal and fiduciary group where she served as an independent director on alternative investment funds including hedge funds, private equity vehicles and related structures.
Before moving into the fiduciary space, Maria was a Senior Manager at Deloitte & Touche in the Cayman Islands specializing in audits of hedge funds, private equity funds, unit trusts and structured finance entities established in the Cayman Islands and Delaware. Maria was also an Assurance Assistant Manager in KPMG Singapore providing audit services to multinational companies in various industry sectors including manufacturing, trading and construction. Maria began her career with Ernst & Young in the Philippines.
Maria graduated from the University of Santo Tomas with a Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy. She holds an Accredited Director certification from The Chartered Governance Institute. She is a member of the Philippines Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Cayman Islands Institute of Professional Accountants and the Cayman Islands Directors Association. Maria is a Registered Director under the Directors Registration and Licensing Act of the Cayman Islands.
